Installs, repairs, rebuilds and services a wide variety of mechanical or electrical locking devices using hand tools and special equipment. Diagnoses operational problems with locks and locking devices and suggests solutions. Position requires considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of the locksmith/lock technician trade. Keeps work site clean and orderly. Maintains contact with Dispatcher on job progress and completion to facilitate accurate and timely billing and to keep with same day billing policy. Follows up on assigned work orders until completed. Requests parts as needed through Parts Dept. Manager and follows up on status of orders. Ensures parts needed for jobs are on truck inventory prior to dispatching to job site. Keeps truck inventory at needed levels and works with Parts Manager to ensure. Follows through on work order paperwork including peripheral receipts (ie: Home Depot, Blaydes) needed to invoice job completely in a timely manner. Keeps truck organized, clean and maintained on a regular or as needed basis. Works closely with Apprentices as assigned and makes every effort to train and pass on knowledge. Attends all training and seminars as needed to keep up to date on products and events.
